FAQ

What are intramural sports?

Intramural sports are run by Sutton staff and/or experts in our community.  They are designed to help students learn a new sport or to enjoy a sport they have played before.

What sports will be offered?

Sports will vary by year and season, but in the past, we have offered flag football, Ultimate Frisbee, Pep Squad, Volleyball, 3-on-3 basketball and more!  Watch the Sutton Source, the Intramurals Website and the Intramurals Sports Fees Form for current offerings.

How are they different from APS sports?

Students play against each other and are less competitive.  All sports are played on a Sutton Middle School campus, before or after school.  There aren’t any try-outs.

What does my child need to participate?

Students are required to have a current sports physical, a PTA permission slip, and the pay the fee for that particular sport.

Where do I get these forms?

All of the forms are available on the SMS website under AthleticsAthletics Try-out InformationAthletic Forms or http://www.atlanta.k12.ga.us/Page/30710

How long do these sports run?

Typically, intramurals are 1-2 days a week, an hour a day, for 4-8 weeks. Some happen before school and some are after school.  Transportation is NOT provided.
